Due to this requirement for real-time working, modules with a high computer performance were chosen and special attention was paid to the long-term availability of all components.
Individual freight measurement
Janz Tec AG supplied the necessary embedded computers and matching displays for the measurement equipment made by AKL-tec GmbH from Alsdorf. The specialist for freight measurement equipment has to ensure that automatic measurement takes place as quickly as possible, but also that the data is absolutely precise, in order to comply with the legal requirements made by the European Measuring Instruments Directive (MID). In this case, up-to-date technology which is available in the long term was used in order to avoid unnecessarily expensive and time-consuming component changes. In normal cases the computers can be operated without fans, but for safety reasons a speed and temperature-controlled fan was integrated in order to ensure that the computer unit had sufficient cooling even in tropical areas.
Control systems for fine wire and heavy wire bonders
The Paderborn high-tech company Hesse & Knipps GmbH develops and produces equipment in the semiconductor industry. In this project, the core task was to implement a new control system for automatic bonding machines and to replace the previous computers with their ageing technology, so that retrofitting the existing machines with new controller computers was possible without problems. This was intended to avoid duplicate warehousing of varying system components. The development of the individual housing and the selection of components for the three computer cores took place in close cooperation with the customer.

Herrmann Automationstechnik GmbH also purchases products from Janz Tec AG, since the company is available to answer technical questions on both hardware and software development thanks to its expert support team in the development department, and also provides permanent contact partners. The installed systems stand out due to the fact that they support all the necessary interfaces and features, and because the construction form of the Janz systems fits extremely well in the robot operating housings. The operating system support ranges from Windows CE up to Linux.
